Up for sale is recent Estate Auction find, a Vintage 1940's SIGNED DASON Davidson & Sons of New York RARE COLORFUL Natural Dendritic Agate 10k Solid YellowGold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1940's SIGNED DASON Davidson & Sons of New York 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a Fantastic14x12mm Dendritic Agate gemstone that is all natural and guaranteed as such. The pattern in this agate resembles a SEA FERN or LIGHTNING. This Dendritic Agate has RARE ORANGE & SIENNA COLORS, most Dendritic Agate has Black/Grey Dendrites only. This Dendritic Agate is a Rectangular Flat Cabochon Cut with Beautifully Beveled Edges that frame the dendrites perfectly. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. The patterns in this agate are formed completely by nature and are guaranteed as such Dendritic Agate is an almost transparent chalcedony with dendritic tree or fern-like inclusions of iron or manganese. The vertical line is not a crack, it is just a linear formation of dendrites. The famous Russian jeweler Carl Faberge famous for his priceless eggs, who was a supplier to the Russian Imperial Court from 1885 to 1916, used dendritic agates together with diamonds and for many of his pieces. Dendritic agate also known as Shazar stone is prized in Russia as a stone of long life, good health and prosperity. The red line at the top of the agate is not a crack, just the curved arc of an internal dendrite. This Dendritic Agate Gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This classic ring has great ornate shoulder details. This is stamped "Dason" the trademark used by Davidson & Sons, New York established in 1936. Early and Mid-Century Dason pieces have become collectible and highly sought after. This ring was made using a die stamping method common in this era. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold.
