Up for sale is a recent find, a Vintage 1940's SIGNED Budlong Docherty & Armstrong 4ct PURPLE/FUCHSIA COLOR CHANGE Sapphire 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in MINT PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION. This Original Vintage 1940's SIGNED Budlong Docherty & Armstrong 10k Solid Yellow Gold Ring is set with an Amazing 4ct 10x8mm Sapphire with the most Vibrant PURPLE/FUCHSIA COLOR and PERFECT CLARITY & LUSTER. This beautiful sapphire has color change/shift properties that go from a PURPLE to a FUCHSIA color depending on the light source (natural light or artificial light). The first photo shows the color change. This sapphire is a Rectangular Step Cut with beautiful scissor cut sides and really catches the light. The gemstone tests as a sapphire on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown sapphire. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for further testing as we believe this is most likely a very high quality lab grown sapphire. A Lab Grown Sapphire has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Sapphire meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. This Sapphire is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION and is free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. The 10k Solid Yellow Gold setting has a great tapered concave shoulders and a bracketed setting with reflective curves designed to channel light into the sapphire. The interior of the ring is stamped with the maker's mark of "BDA" which is the maker's mark of Budlong Docherty & Armstrong of Providence, Rhode Island established in 1915, a collectible and sought after vintage brand. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in MINT PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
