This Original Antique1920's Art Deco SIGNED LaFrance of New York Hand Milgrained 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with an Amazing 3ct 9.5x7.5mm Ruby with the most Vibrant COLOR and SUPERB CLARITY & LUSTER. This ruby is an Unusual Window Pane Ruby. A window pane cut has a flat low profile top with a beautifully faceted underside. This keeps the gemstone low in the setting protecting it from damage. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown ruby. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. Aside from some edge abrasions and two nicks this ruby is otherwise iin GOOD CONDITION free of any cracks or breaks. This Classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has great ornate Hand Milgrained detail. Milgrain edging looks so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded patterns is able to make the ring’s edge resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading.
