Up for sale is a find from a large collection of Turquoise pieces acquired at Auction, an Antique Victorian RARE ORANGE MATRIX Natural Turquoise 10k Solid Rose Gold Men's Ring Marked with a May 1889 Patent Date. This Original Victorian 10k Solid Rose Gold ring is set with a Stunning 17.5x13mm Beautifully Curved RARE ORANGE Matrix Natural Turquoise cabochon. This Turquoise is natural and not color enhanced in any way. This turquoise has an AMAZING RARE ORANGE Matrix not commonly found in most Turquoise. The pattern in this turquoise formed when water infiltrated the turquoise and then oxidized iron worked into the crevices. Then over time pressure collapsed the matrix packing the formations in to this beautiful pattern. This Turquoise is a Beautifully Curved Cabochon Cut. The curve in this turquoise follows the shape of the ring beautifully. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. Aside from a little naturally occurring pitting this turquoise is otherwise in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, nicks, scratches, or chips. The interior of the Ring is stamped "PAT.May.14.89" which means the patent date of the ring is May 14, 1889. Frederick Kaffeman operated a high-end platinum and gold jewelry manufacturing business at 51-53 Maiden Lane in New York City.
