Up for sale is an Auction find, a Vintage 1950's Southwestern Natural Lapis Lazuli Turquoise Onyx Malachite Sugilite & Red Jasper RARE Intarsia Inlay Hand Engraved 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1950's 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a Beautiful 14x12mm Natural Lapis Lazuli Turquoise Onyx Malachite Sugilite & Red Jasper RARE Intarsia Inlay Gemstone. Intarsia inlay is made by precise fitting together of flat polished gemstones into a single multi gemstone unit. This GEMSTONE is a TRUE WORK of ART. This inlay gemstone is made up of Natural Lapis Lazuli Turquoise Onyx Malachite Sugilite & Red Jasper separated by Sterling Silver Square Bar Wire Seams. This Lapis is a BREATHTAKING VIVID BLUE with nice luster and tiny flecks of glittering pyrite. This Lapis is of the highest quality and is not the washed out denim lapis that is commonly found. Lapis Lazuli was once used to manufacture blue artistic paints before 1834. Many of the worlds masterpieces we painted using lapis based blues. This high quality lapis is only found in Afghanistan and Egypt. Many ancient cultures believed that lapis enhanced self-expression. The sky blue is Turquoise with a black spiderweb lines of the host rock or matrix. The black is onyx. The red gemstone is RED JASPER. The purple is sugilite. Discovered in the 1940's and now found around the world it was used in Southwestern jewelery. The green banded gemstones are Natural Malachite. Malachite has been carved into art and worn as jewelry for thousands of years.This Inlay Gemstone is a rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This intarsia gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, scratches, or chips. This classic1950's ring has a great hand engraved shoulder detail. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is marked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold.
