Up for sale is a recent Estate Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco Genuine Lapis Lazuli Hand Milgrained 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring. This Antique1920's Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a Beautiful 16.5x11.5mm Genuine Lapis Lazuli Gemstone. This Lapis is a DEEP BLUE with Glittering Flecks of Pyrite. Lapis Lazuli was once used to manufacture blue artistic paints before 1834. Many of the worlds masterpieces we painted using lapis based blues. This quality lapis is only found in Afghanistan and Egypt. Many ancient cultures believed that lapis enhanced self-expression. This is genuine earth-mined lapis. This lapis is a Beautifully Curved Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. The curved of the lapis follows the curve of the ring beautifully. Seams of natural calcite are in two corners and are where the tiny golden flecks of pyrite occur. Aside from a hairline crack (see red arrow in photo #5) that can barely be felt with a fingernail by running it across the thin line, this gemstone is otherwise in GOOD CONDITION free of any additional cracks, nicks, or chips. All of our photos are taken using DAYLIGHT BULBS with a color temperature of 5000k so the colors in the photos are very close to what the ring would look like in outdoor sunlight. This lapis will appear darker in person and indoors. This Solid 10k White Gold Setting has beautiful hand milgrained shoulder details. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. This ring is a Victorian Design but made in the Art Deco Period in White Gold that was invented in the 1920's and did not exist in the Victorian era. This ring is a comfortable solid back design. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be Solid Gold.
