Up for sale is a recent auction find from a large collection spinel and sapphire rings, an Antique 1920's Art Deco LARGE 12ct Purple to Blue/Violet Color Shift Sapphire Handwrought 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION. This Antique 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid Yellow Gold Ring is set with a Beautiful LARGE 12ct 16x12mm Purple Sapphire with amazing PURPLE to BLUE/VIOLET COLOR SHIFT and SUPERB CLARITY. This sapphire also has AMAZING LUSTER. The color of this sapphire has a subtle shift in color from PURPLE to BLUE/VIOLET. This sapphire is a rectangular smooth top Cabochon Cut and really catches the light. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. The gemstone tests as a sapphire on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown sapphire. This gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural sapphire as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown sapphire. A Lab Grown Sapphire has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Sapphire meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. The waves and swirls on the sapphire in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections because the polished surface is difficult to photograph. This Sapphire is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This Classic 1920's Art Deco ring has great fluted shoulder details.
