Up for sale is a recent Estate Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco Natural Lapis Lazuli & Antique Cut Diamond 10k Solid White & Rose Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Antique 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid White & Rose Gold ring is set with a Beautiful 16x12mm Natural Lapis Lazuli Gemstone. This Lapis is a DEEP BLUE with Glittering Flecks of Pyrite. Lapis Lazuli was once used to manufacture blue artistic paints before 1834. Many of the worlds masterpieces we painted using lapis based blues. This quality lapis is only found in Afghanistan and Egypt. Many ancient cultures believed that lapis enhanced self-expression. This lapis is all natural and has not been color enhanced in any way. This lapis is an Rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This lapis has been drilled and peen set with a Beautiful 3mm (.10ct to .15ct) Natural & Genuine Antique Cut Diamond in a white gold mount. This is not a simple diamond chip but a very nice round faceted diamond. This Diamond is a Rare Antique Cut. This Antique Cut is a hybrid between an Antique cut popular from the 1500's up to the 1900 and the top of the diamond is cut like an Antique European Cut. These Antique Cut diamonds came into existence after the Old Mine Cut variety yet prior to the round brilliant diamond cuts of today, sometime during the 1880's and were used well into the Art deco period in the 1920's. Antique Cut Diamonds have a few unique characteristics to it which enable individuals to identify them. Characteristics such as rounded appearance and hand faceting production are all traits which correspond with Antique Cut Diamonds. The reason for the diamond to be cut in this manner is so that the light is brought in at such an angle that the vision which those gazing upon the diamond perceive is one of brilliance and fire. This diamond has very nice color and clarity and is guaranteed to be both Genuine & Natural. As far as clarity it is in the SI range. As far as color it is hard to say because it is mounted in white gold reflective mount so our best estimate is that it is in the J-K range. The lapis & diamond are in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION free of any breaks, nicks, scratches, or chips. All of our photos are taken using DAYLIGHT BULBS with a color temperature of 5000k so the colors in the photos are very close to what the ring would look like in outdoor sunlight. This lapis will appear darker in person and indoors. This Classic Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring has great geometric rose gold shoulder details. The interior is engraved in script "C.A.J." The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
