EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION

Up for sale is a recent Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton LARGE 8ct Checkerboard Cut Ruby Hand Milgrained 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Original Antique 1920's SIGNED Ostby & Barton Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with an Amazing LARGER 8ct 12x10mm Ruby with the most Vibrant COLOR and SUPERB CLARITY. This ruby is a rare checkerboard cut. A checkerboard cut has surface faceting that creates incredible sparkle that resembles the surface of a disco ball. This ruby displays fantastic surface luster. It is also an octagonal cut with the corners cut at 45 degrees to protect them from damage. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown ruby. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" & Maltese Cross which are the hallmarks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has beautifully ornate shoulder details. This ring is a classic 10k Solid White Gold 1920's Art Deco Ring made using the stamping method common in the Deco era. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) Aside from the tiny bit of bezel wear this ring is otherwise in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION will arrive ready to wear.

This is an Original SIGNED Ostby & Barton Antique 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
