Up for sale is a find from a large collection of Turquoise pieces acquired at Auction, an Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton RARE Natural #8 Mine Nevada Turquoise Hand Milgrained 10k Solid Rose Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Antique 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid Rose Gold Ring is set with a STUNNING 16x12.5mm RARE Natural #8 Mine Turquoise Gemstone. This #8 Mine Turquoise is of the HIGHEST QUALITY and has Beautiful Sky Blue Color with a chocolate brown matrix. This is all natural Turquoise that is not color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. The #8 Turquoise mine in Eureka County north of Carlin Nevada was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929 until its depletion. The mine was closed as a result of the discovery of gold in 1976 when the Newton Gold Company claimed the area. In its prime, the Number 8 mine produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever found. This Turquoise is a Rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This turquoise is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION absolutely free of any chips, nicks, breaks or scratches The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" and a Maltese cross which are the maker's marks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand.. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This Classic 10k Solid Rose Gold ring has great Art Deco Architectural Shoulder elements with hand milgrained details. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked “10k” and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.

This is an Anique Ostby & Barton 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
