Up for sale is a recent Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco RARE LARGE 11ct Hand Carved Ruby Roman Cameo Hand Engraved 14k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This HEAVY 8.6 Gram (0.30 Ounce) Whopping Over 1/3 Ounce Original Antique 1920's Art Deco 14k Solid White Gold Wax Seal ring is set with an Amazing LARGE 11ct 14x12mm RUBY with superb RED COLOR. The cameo look to be Julius Caesar with his laurel wreath civic crown. This particular cameo is recessed into an oval depression in the middle protecting it from damage. The outer edge and underside of the ruby has also been expertly faceted. It is rare to find a Hand Carved cameo of this quality and in Ruby because most were done in Carnelian or Onyx. This glowing ruby has beautiful color and clarity. There are recessed reticulated opening on the sided that allows light to enter the underside setting to illuminate the ruby. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer and is a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has hand engraved shoulder details. This is a HEAVY and Substantial 8.6 Gram (0.30 Ounce) Whopping Almost 1/3 Ounce 14k Solid Gold Ring. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold.
