This Antique 1920's Art Deco Antique 1920's Art Deco Signed Budlong Docherty & Armstrong 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring is set with a Beautiful LARGE 16x12mm Natural Lapis Lazuli Tiger's Eye & Chrysoprase RARE Intarsia Inlay Gemstone It is made by precise fitting together of polished gemstones into a single multi gemstone unit. This INLAY GEMSTONE is a TRUE WORK of ART. The VIVID BLUE Inlay is Natural Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli was once used to manufacture blue artistic paints before 1834. Many of the worlds masterpieces we painted using Lapis based blues. This high quality Lapis is only found in Afghanistan and Egypt. Many ancient cultures believed that lapis enhanced self-expression. The green gemstones are Natural Chrysoprase. Chrysoprase was called the stone of Venus and is the rarest and most valuable rich apple-green gemstone in the chalcedony family and was often mistaken for emeralds by ancient jewelers. Chrysoprase was used by the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians to make seals, signets, jewelry and other ornamental objects because of its vivid color. The golden gemstones are Natural Tiger's Eye. Tiger's Eye is a crystal with beautiful bands of yellow-golden color throughout. This inlay gemstone is a Rectangular Cabochon Cut with beautifully beveled edges. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This intarsia gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, nicks, chips or scratches. The interior of the ring is stamped with the maker's mark of "BDA" which is the maker's mark of Budlong Docherty & Armstrong of Providence, Rhode Island established in 1915, a collectible and sought after vintage brand. This ring also has Bright Rhodium Accented Beautiful Hand Milgrained work on the shoulders of the setting. Rhodium is a very precious metal that can cost ten times as much as gold. Rhodium is used because it is white and mirror-like. It's like chrome, but much whiter, and the most reflective of all metals. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully marked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
