This Original Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton 10k Solid Yellow & White Gold ring is set with a Fantastic VERY RARE 10x8mm Gold Bearing Quartz gemstone. This gold bearing quartz is all natural and guaranteed as such. This quartz has a WIDE GLEAMING SEAMS of GOLD. Gold Bearing Quartz is one of the world's rarest forms of natural gold. Specimens of native gold in quartz are rare because the previous miners crushed and smelted all of the gold ore that they mined, many fine specimens were processed and lost It is found underground by hard rock miners in only a handful of locations in the world. Most of the world's production comes from a few mines in Northern California. This unique formation of very difficult to find small pockets of GOLD in QUARTZ is being mined 1500  to 3000 feet below the earth's surface. The natural veins of gold were formed with the earth by hydrothermal pressure deep within the earth millions of years ago. This Gold in Quartz is an Octagonal Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. Aside from a tiny bit of natural surface crazing this gold in quartz gemstone is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and is free of any chips, breaks, nicks or cracks. The interior of the ring has an "OB" which is the hallmark for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This ring features beautiful hand done milgrain details highlighting the ornate cast elements in the ring. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION will arrive ready to wear.

This is an Antique Ostby & Barton 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
