Up for sale is the second ring in a pair of similar rings acquired at auction. It is one of the more beautiful Cocktail Rings we have had the opportunity to offer, an Antique 1920's Art Deco Signed Budlong Docherty & Armstrong Natural Lapis Lazuli & Onyx Intarsia Inlay 10k Solid Yellow Gold Ladies Cocktail Ring in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION. This Signed Budlong Docherty & Armstrong 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a Beautiful 16x12mm Natural Lapis Lazuli & Onyx RARE Intarsia Inlay Gemstone. Intarsia inlay is made by precise fitting together of polished gemstones into a single multi gemstone unit. This GEMSTONE is a TRUE WORK of ART. The VIVID BLUE inlay is Natural Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli was once used to manufacture blue artistic paints before 1834. Many of the worlds masterpieces we painted using lapis based blues. This high quality lapis is only found in Afghanistan and Egypt. Many ancient cultures believed that lapis enhanced self-expression. The black is onyx which is a variety of natural chalcedony. Its name comes from the Greek "onyx" that means "claw" or "nail". The silver between the lapis and onyx is polished silver square wire to provide some contrast between the blue and black. This inlay gemstone is an Oval Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This Lapis & Onyx inlay gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This Beautiful Classic 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid Yellow Gold Setting has great tapered fluted column shoulder details with subtle hand done milgrain accents. The bezel has beautiful openwork details. The interior of the ring has the maker's mark of "BDA" which is the maker's mark of Budlong Docherty & Armstrong of Providence, Rhode Island established in 1915, a collectible and sought after vintage brand. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold.
