Up for sale is a recent Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton 3.5ct Window Pane Emerald Cut Ruby Hand Milgrained 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Original Antique 1920's SIGNED Ostby & Barton Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a Amazing 3.5ct 9.5x7.5mm Ruby with the most Vibrant COLOR and SUPERB CLARITY & LUSTER. This ruby is an Unusual Window Pane Emerald Cut Ruby. An Emerald Cut is an octagonal cut with the corners cut at 45 degrees to protect them from damage. A window pane cut has a flat low profile top with a beautifully faceted underside. This keeps the gemstone low in the setting protecting it from damage. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown ruby. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. . The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" with a Maltese Cross and RARE Three Dots which are the hallmarks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand.
