Up for sale is a recent Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton 3ct Emerald Cut Natural Amethyst Hand Milgrained 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Original Antique 1920's SIGNED Ostby & Barton Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a Fantastic 3ct 10x8mm NATURAL EMERALD CUT AMETHYST that is a Beautiful PURPLE COLOR. This Natural AMETHYST is a MEDIUM PURPLE not the very light washed out Amethyst more Commonly Available. It has superb clarity and luster. The color of amethyst is traditionally the color of royalty and amethyst has been used since the dawn of history to adorn the rich and powerful monarchs and rulers. Fine amethysts are featured in the British Crown Jewels and were also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty. This AMETHYST is an Emerald Cut. An Emerald Cut is an octagonal step cut with the corners cut at 45 degrees to protect them from damage. This Amethyst is both Genuine & Natural and has not been clarity enhanced and is guaranteed as such. This amethyst is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION and is free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" with a Maltese Cross and RARE Three Dots which are the hallmarks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has fantastic Hand Milgrain details accenting the ornate details on the shoulders of the setting and around the bezel. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is a classic 10k Solid White Gold 1920's Art Deco Ring made using the stamping method common in the Deco era. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION will arrive ready to wear.

This is an Original SIGNED Ostby & Barton Antique 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
