This Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED Ostby & Barton 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a Fantastic 13x11.5mm STUNNING RARE ORANGE SWIRLING Matrix Natural Kingman Turquoise cabochon. This Turquoise is natural and not color enhanced in any way. The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona is one of the largest turquoise mines. Kingman blue is common, this Kingman is a lighter blue with AMAZING RARE ORANGE SWIRLING Matrix not commonly found in most Turquoise. Natural Kingman is highly collectible. In the late 1880’s to the early 1900’s, Kingman Turquoise was mined by the Aztec Turquoise Co., the Los Angeles Gem Co., Arizona Turquoise Co., Southwest Turquoise Co. and Mineral Park Turquoise Co. The Kingman mine re-opened in September 2004 after being closed in the 1970’s. This Turquoise is an Octagonal Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This Turquoise is in MINT PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches. The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" and RARE Three Dots which are the hallmarks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This ring features beautiful hand done milgrain details highlighting the ornate cast elements on the shoulders of the setting. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is marked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) Aside from some bezel wear this ring is otherwise in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION will arrive ready to wear.
This is an Antique Ostby & Barton 1920's Art Deco Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
