The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona is one of the largest turquoise mines. Kingman blue is common, this Kingman is the very RARE Birdseye variety with hints of ORANGE color. The matrix pattern known as Birdseye or Water Web is beautiful and highly prized. In the late 1880’s to the early 1900’s, Kingman Turquoise was mined by the Aztec Turquoise Co., the Los Angeles Gem Co., Arizona Turquoise Co., Southwest Turquoise Co. and Mineral Park Turquoise Co. The Kingman mine re-opened in September 2004 after being closed in the 1970’s. This Turquoise is an Elongated Octagonal Cabochon Cut with Beautifully Beveled Edges. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This turquoise is in MINT PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches. The 14k Solid White Gold Setting is classic 1920's Art Deco and has great architectural details and beautiful filigree highlighted by hand done milgrain details. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "14k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 14k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
This is an Antique 1920's Art Deco Ladies Cocktail ring not a copy or reproduction.
