This HEAVY 8.7 Gram (0.31 Ounce) Whopping Almost 1/3 Ounce Antique 1920's Art Deco Solid Sterling Silver & 10k Gold Ring is set with a FANTASTIC LARGE 16x12mm VERY RARE Natural Turquoise & Smithsonite Intarsia Inlay Gemstone. Intarsia is made by precise fitting together of polished gemstones into a single multi gemstone unit. All the gemstones in this intarsia is both Genuine & Natural and guaranteed as such. The right side is ORANGE Matrix Natural Kingman Turquoise. This Turquoise is natural and not color enhanced in any way. The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona is one of the largest turquoise mines. Kingman blue is common, this Kingman is a BLUE/GREEN with an ORANGE Matrix not commonly found in most Kingman Turquoise. Natural Kingman is highly collectible. In the late 1880’s to the early 1900’s, Kingman Turquoise was mined by the Aztec Turquoise Co., the Los Angeles Gem Co., Arizona Turquoise Co., Southwest Turquoise Co. and Mineral Park Turquoise Co. The Kingman mine re-opened in September 2004 after being closed in the 1970’s. The left half is Natural Blue Smithsonite with parallel lines. When we first saw this ring we thought it might be lace agate or a very light blue turquoise but upon inspection it is Natural Blue Smithsonite. Smithsonite was named in 1832 for James Smithson a founder and the major donor of the Smithsonian Institution This Smithsonite is a SKY BLUE. Smithsonite occurs with minerals such as Cerussite, Malachite and Hemimorphite. The American Southwest has deposits of this type of blue Smithsonite. It has a silky to pearly luster that resembles the fine sheen of melted wax glowing under a candle flame. This Inlay is a Rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This inlay gemstone is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION free of any scratches, cracks, or breaks. This Solid Sterling Silver Setting has great 10k Gold Vermeil Accents with Classic 1920's Deco Candlewick Dot Shoulder Details. This Classic 1920's Art Deco ring has ornate hand milgrained bezel details. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. This is a HEAVY and Substantial 8.7 Gram (0.31 Ounce) Whopping Almost 1/3 Ounce Ring. The darker oil slick look in the details and recessed areas is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. If you would like us to polish the ring further to remove this patina just let us know, it is no problem at all. This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
