Up for sale is a recent Auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco SIGNED BELAIS of New York 4ct Window Pane Emerald Cut Ruby Hand Engraved 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Original Antique 1920's SIGNED BELAIS of New York Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with an Amazing 4ct 12x10mm Ruby with the most Vibrant COLOR and SUPERB CLARITY & LUSTER. This ruby is an Unusual Window Pane Emerald Cut Ruby. An Emerald Cut is an octagonal cut with the corners cut at 45 degrees to protect them from damage. A window pane cut has a flat low profile top with a beautifully faceted underside. This keeps the gemstone low in the setting protecting it from damage. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown ruby. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. Aside from a few small edge abrasions this ruby is otherwise in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION free of any additional chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. The interior of the ring is marked with the maker's mark of "BELAIS" which is the hallmark for Belais Brothers Jewelry of New York an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Belais was the first manufacturer to patent the process for white gold and their jewelry is highly sought after and very collectible. Belais is a legendary name in antique luxury jewelry. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has beautifully ornate hand engraved details. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. The interior is also stamped "IHS" .This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold.
