Up for sale is a recent Estate Auction find, an Antique c1900 Victorian Antique Cut 2/3ct Natural RARE Fully Faceted Blue Moonstone 10k Solid Rose Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Antique c1900 Victorian 10k Solid Rose Gold ring is set with a Fantastic 6mm 2/3ct RARE Faceted Blue Natural Moonstone with the most Beautiful BLUE/TEAL Color. The Iridescent Effect appears suspended inside the moonstone and has amazing three dimensional depth of color. This moonstone is all natural and guaranteed as such. This Moonstone is Fully Faceted which is VERY RARE because most moonstones are cabochons. It is an Antique Cut. This Antique Cut is a hybrid between an Antique cut popular from the 1500's up to the 1900 and the top of an Antique European Cut. This Amazing Moonstone has a tall table and round girdle with a beautifully faceted bottom. These Antique Cut gemstones came into existence after the Old Mine Cut variety yet prior to the round brilliant diamond cuts of today, sometime during the 1880's and were used well into the Art Deco period in the 1920's. An Antique cut gemstone has a few unique characteristics to it which enables individuals to identify them. Characteristics such as rounded appearance, 58-facet cut and hand faceting production are all traits which correspond with Old European Cut gemstones. We provided quite a few photos of the gemstone to give you an idea of how much color there is and how it the blue sheen appears. The lines you see in the moonstone are the natural crystal's lamellar inner construction found in feldspars. This unique quality is responsible for the shimmer and the way incident light rays are refracted and scattered in the gemstone. This moonstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. The ring is a classic Victorian Belcher Setting in Solid 10k Rose Gold with sixt prongs that hold the amethyst securely. All six Prongs are in GREAT CONDITION which is RARE for an Original c1900 Victorian Belcher Setting Ring. The darker oil slick look in the side details is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. If you would like us to polish the ring further to remove this patina just let us know, it is no problem at all. This ring is fully hallmarked “10k” and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
