Up for sale is an Estate Auction find, an Antique 1930's Late Period Art Deco Natural Meteorite Cabochon 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This HEAVY 12.4 Gram (0.44 Ounce) Whopping Almost 1/2 Ounce Antique 1930's Late Period Art Deco 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a Beautiful LARGE 20x14.5mm Natural Meteorite Gemstone. This ring has a large face at just under 1 inch long including the bezel frame.This is an iron meteorite cabochon gemstone with beveled edges. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. Iron meteorites are the cores of asteroids that melted early in their history. They consist mainly of iron-nickel metal with small amounts of sulphide and carbide minerals. Iron meteorites are mainly made of an iron-nickel alloy with a distinctive crystalline structure known as a Widmanstätten texture. Bands are formed by varying levels of nickel. To shape this sturdy gemstone it was cut and the surface was etched with acid to reveal the beautifully intricate crystalline structure. This Meteorite Gemstone is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and is free of any chips or breaks. This Classic Late Period Art Deco ring also has great column shoulder detail. Since this is a 1930's Late Art Deco setting the gemstone was probably added later. This is a HEAVY and Substantial 12.4 Gram (0.44 Ounce) Whopping Almost 1/2 Ounce 10k Solid Gold Ring. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) Aside from a few small dings and scratches in the ring that could be polished out if desired this ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
