Up for sale is a recent estate auction find, an Antique 1920's Art Deco LARGE 12ct Ruby Cabochon 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This 7.6 Gram (0.27 Ounces) Over 1/4 Ounce Antique 1920's Art Deco 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a Beautiful LARGE 12ct 16x12mm Ruby with amazing DEEP RED COLOR and EXCEPTIONAL CLARITY. This ruby has FANTASTIC LUSTER. This ruby is a rectangular smooth top Cabochon Cut and really catches the light. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer and is most likely very high quality lab grown ruby. This gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. The waves and swirls on the ruby in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections because the polished surface is difficult to photograph. This Ruby is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring has shoulders that feature ornate column details. This ring has a great bracketed setting designed to allow light into the ruby. This ring was made using the stamping method common during the era. This ring is hallmarked "10k"and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold.
