Alaska designated jade as the official state gem. The term "jade" is generic; it actually refers to three minerals - jadeite, nephrite, and chloromenlanite. This is Natural Alaskan Nephrite Jade that has not been enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. Large deposits of Alaskan jade are found along the Seward Peninsula, particularly in Jade Creek and Jade Mountain in northwestern Alaska. Since ancient times jade has been a gift to wish good health. This jade is a Cushion-Shaped Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This jade is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, scratches, or chips The interior of the ring stamped "OB" which is the hallmark for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This Solid Sterling Silver Setting has great 10k Gold Filled Snowshoe & Sled Dog Accents.
