Up for sale is a recent find acquired at Auction, a Vintage 1940's SIGNED Ostby & Barton Winter Motif Natural Alaskan Jade Solid Sterling Silver Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1940's Solid Sterling Silver Men's Ring is set with a Beautiful 12x10mm Natural Alaskan Jade Gemstone with beautiful DEEP DARK GREEN COLOR. Alaska designated jade as the official state gem. The term "jade" is generic; it actually refers to three minerals - jadeite, nephrite, and chloromenlanite. This is Natural Alaskan Nephrite Jade that has not been enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. Large deposits of Alaskan jade are found along the Seward Peninsula, particularly in Jade Creek and Jade Mountain in northwestern Alaska. Since ancient times jade has been a gift to wish good health. This jade is a Rectangular Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. All of our photos are taken using DAYLIGHT BULBS with a color temperature of 5000k so the colors in the photos are very close to what the ring would look like in outdoor sunlight. This jade will appear darker in person and indoors. This jade is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, scratches, or chips. The interior of the ring stamped "OB" which is the hallmark for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. This Solid Sterling Silver Setting has great Snowshoe & Sled Dog Side Panel Accents. This is a a smaller frame ring so please use the measurements in the description and the explanation of the measurements given below along with the scale photo (photo #12) to determine the size and scale of the ring. The darker oil slick look in the details and recessed areas is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. If you would like us to polish the ring further to remove this patina just let us know, it is no problem at all. This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.

This is a Vintage 1920's Ostby & Barton Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
