Up for sale is a ring from a large collection of Turquoise pieces acquired at Auction, A Vintage 1940's SIGNED Plainville Stock Company Natural RARE ORANGE MATRIX Kingman Mine Turquoise Hand Milgrained 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1940's SIGNED Plainville Stock Company 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring is set with a BEAUTIFUL 14x12mm RARE ORANGE Matrix Natural Kingman Mine Turquoise cabochon. This Turquoise is natural and not color enhanced in any way. The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona is one of the largest turquoise mines. Kingman blue is common, this Kingman is an LIGHT BLUE/GREEN with a RARE ORANGE Matrix not commonly found in most Kingman Turquoise. Natural Kingman is highly collectible. The pattern in this turquoise formed when water infiltrated the turquoise and then oxidized iron worked into the crevices. Then over time pressure collapsed the matrix packing the formations into this beautiful pattern. In the late 1880’s to the early 1900’s, Kingman Turquoise was mined by the Aztec Turquoise Co., the Los Angeles Gem Co., Arizona Turquoise Co., Southwest Turquoise Co. and Mineral Park Turquoise Co. The Kingman mine re-opened in September 2004 after being closed in the 1970’s. This Turquoise is an Octagonal Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This Turquoise Gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE FLAWLESS CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, scratches or cracks. This vintage ring is signed "PSCO" which is the hallmark of the Plainville Stock Company located in Plainville, Massachusetts founded in 1872. This Solid 10k Yellow Gold Setting has hand done milgrained edge details on the top and bottom of the bracket bezel. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. This classic ring was made using the stamping method common in this era. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked “10k” and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
This is a Vintage 1920's SIGNED Plainville Stock Company Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
