Up for sale is recent estate auction find, a Vintage !940's SIGNED Ullenberg Jewelry LARGE 12ct Ruby 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in MINT PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION. 12ct 16x12mm Ruby with amazing DEEP RED COLOR and NEAR PERFECT CLARITY. This ruby has FANTASTIC LUSTER. This ruby is a rectangular smooth top Cabochon Cut and really catches the light. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer and is most likely very high quality lab grown ruby. This gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant. The waves and swirls on the ruby in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections because the polished surface is difficult to photograph. This Ruby is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This ring has a bracketed setting with mirror polished v-shaped details on the shoulders designed to reflect light into the ruby. The ring is signed "UJ"which indicates it was made by Ullenberg Jewelry of New York, a company that moved to Chattanooga mid-century and later became the Ullenberg Corporation. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring was made using the stamping method common in iearly to mid-century pieces This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold.
