Up for sale is one of the more UNUSUAL & RARE Cocktail Rings we have had the opportunity to offer, a Vintage SIGNED ESEMCO 1950's Mid-Century Modernist Antique Cut Natural 1.5ct Rhodolite Garnet 10k Solid White Gold Ladies Cocktail Ring in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION. This Vintage SIGNED ESEMCO 1950's Modernist 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with an Amazing 1.5ct 7mm Natural Garnet that is a VIVID RASPBERRY PURPLISH RED COLOR with superb luster and exceptional clarity. This all Natural Garnet is guaranteed to be both genuine and natural. This wonderful Garnet Gemstone is a Rhodolite Garnet. Rhodolite Garnets are brighter color than most other types of garnet and are sometimes mistaken for rubies. Rhodolite Garnets are one of the three rare garnet types along with Tsavorite & Spessartite Garnets. The King of Saxony is said to have had a garnet of over 465 carats. This is an all natural earth-mined garnet and is guaranteed as such. This garnet is a Rare Type of Antique Cut. This Antique Cut is a hybrid between an Antique cut popular from the 1500's up to the 1900 and the top of the garnet is cut like an Antique European Cut. These Antique Cut gemstones came into existence after the Old Mine Cut variety yet prior to the round brilliant diamond cuts of today, sometime during the 1880's and were used well into the mid-century. This type of antique Cut gemstone has a few unique characteristics to it which enables individuals to identify them. Characteristics such as rounded appearance, 58-facet cut, a taller small table and hand faceting production are all traits which correspond with the Old Antique Cut stone. This garnet is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION and is absolutely free of any chips, nicks, cracks or scratches. The garnet is held securely by four substantial prongs that are a seamless part of the rings minimalist design. This Vintage 1950's Modernist ring has a clean design with sleek shapes. The band is a flat tall disc-like design. This ring is signed "ESEMCO" which confirms it was manufactured by Shiman Jewelry of New Jersey established in 1906. Signed ESEMCO early jewelry has become quite collectible.
