Up for bid is a recent Estate Auction find, a Vintage 1960's SIGNED Stern & Stern of New York ORANGE/RED & GREEN Natural Solid Black Opal & Two Diamond 10k Solid White Gold Ladies Cocktail Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1960's SIGNED Stern & Stern of New York 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a 7.5x6mm 1/2ct Natural Solid Black Opal with ORANGE/RED & GREEN FIRE and Fantastic Luster. This natural solid black opal has ORANGE/RED FIRE & TINY FLASHES OF GREEN & BLUE FIRE. This is a semi-translucent base solid opal meaning light can pass into the opal giving it depth of color. This Natural Solid Opal has not been treated or color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. We took quite a few photos of this opal under different lighting conditions to give an idea of how it looks inside and in outdoor light. Inside it will appear as a dark gemstone with faint color and outdoors or in full spectrum light the fire is more prominent. This Opal is a Domed Oval Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This opal is natural solid welo opal that has its origins in the Wollo Province in the horn of Africa. The term “Solid Opal” means that the opal you are looking at is indeed a solid chunk of the opal and not a sliver of opal set on a background which would be a doublet or triplet opal. Solid opals are more rare and valuable. This ring is vintage 1960's and probably originally had a Linde sapphire or another type of cabochon. This opal was cut and expertly bezel set later since welo opals came into use about 30 years ago. This ring also features a Two 1mm Natural & Genuine Single Cut Diamonds bead set. Both Diamonds are guaranteed to be both Genuine & Natural. The opal and both diamonds are in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This Vintage 1960's SIGNED Stern & Stern of New 10k Solid White Gold ring has a beautiful mirror finish. This ring is stamped with the maker's mark of "Romany" (The last few letters in the ROMANY hallmark have worn away )which means is was made by Stern & Stern of New York. Stern & Stern was established in New York 1929. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished white gold. This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.

Ring Size & Measurements: This ring is a size 6 and can be sized up or down by any competent jeweler. Ring dimensions are 22mm tall and 19mm wide. Ring rises 5mm from the finger. (1 inch = 25mm) 2.7 Grams Total Weight
