EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION
Up for bid is a recent Auction find and one of the most unusual rings we have offered, a RARE 1960's Vintage SIGNED VARI-GEM Interchangeable 12 Gemstone 10k Solid White Gold Ladies Cocktail Ring in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION. This Original Vintage SIGNED VARI-GEM 1960's 10k Solid White Gold Ring is Designed to allow the wearer to change the gemstone. There are two screws on the underside that hold the gemstone securely. A screwdriver (included with the ring) is used to loosen the screws (see photos #9 & #10) and allow the gemstone to be removed and replaced with a different gem. Each gemstone is set from the back and fits into a four prongs setting while the screws are tightened to hold the gem securely in place. 12 Different Gemstones are included with the ring. Instructions for changing the gems and a precision screwdriver will be included with the ring and gemstones.
Included Gemstones:
The garnet, amethyst, blue topaz, white topaz peridot & moonstone are all natural earth-mined gemstones. The sapphires, ruby, spinels & apatite are all very high quality lab grown gemstones. Lab Grown sapphire, ruby, spinel & apatite have the exact same physical, optical, and chemical properties of the natural corresponding gemstone meaning they are just as hard and scratch resistant. You can also mount any 6mm round brilliant or diamond cut gemstone in this ring. The ring will come with the garnet mounted and the remaining gemstones will all be labeled.
All 12 Gemstones are in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION of free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This classic ring is polished to a mirror finish. The interior of the ring is stamped "VARI-GEM" which is the hallmark for Vari-Gem of Dallas, Texas. This ring was designed by Ed Postel and dates to the 1960's. This ring has both original screws. The interior is also stamped "PAT'D" meaning the ring is patented. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered)This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
This is an Original 1960's Vintage SIGNED VARI-GEM Ladies Cocktail Ring not a copy or reproduction.
Ring Size & Measurements: This ring is a size 5 3/4 and can be sized up or down by any competent jeweler. Ring dimensions are 23mm tall and 19mm wide. Ring rises 6mm from the finger. (1 inch = 25mm) 2.4 Grams Total Weight (weight is the setting only with no gemstone)
Gold: This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k Solid Gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered)
