EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION
Up for bid is a recent Estate Auction find, a Vintage 1970's ORANGE/RED & GREEN Natural Solid Black Opal Hand Engraved 10k Solid Yellow Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. This Vintage 1970's 10k Solid Yellow Gold ring is set with a BEAUTIFUL 7x5mm 0.55ct Natural Solid Black Opal with ORANGE/RED & GREEN FIRE and Fantastic Luster. This natural solid opal has Flashes of ORANGE/RED & GREEN FIRE with Tiny PURPLE/BLUE Flashes. This is a black base solid opal giving the colors nice contrast. This Amazing Natural Solid Opal has not been color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. We took quite a few photos of this opal under different lighting conditions to give an idea of the abundance and brightness of the fire and where it occurs. As you move the opal the fire shifts in brightness and from ORANGE/RED to GREEN. This Opal is a Domed Oval Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This opal is natural solid welo opal that has its origins in the Wollo Province in the horn of Africa. The term “Solid Opal” means that the opal you are looking at is indeed a solid chunk of the opal and not a sliver of opal set on a background which would be a doublet or triplet opal. Solid opals are more rare and valuable. This ring is vintage 1970's and probably originally had a Linde sapphire or another type of cabochon. This opal was cut and expertly prong set later since welo opals came into use about 30 years ago. This Opal is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any cracks, breaks, scratches or chips. The shoulders of the ring have hand engraved intersecting brushed lines to contrast the mirror polished parts of the ring. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold. (Again this ring is guaranteed to be Solid Gold not plated or layered) This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear.
This is an Vintage 1970's Men's Ring not a copy or reproduction.
