Up for bid is a recent Estate Auction find, a Vintage 1970's ORANGE/GOLDEN & GREEN/BLUE Natural Solid Opal & Three Diamond Hand Engraved Florentine 10k Solid White Gold Men's Ring in EXCEPTIONAL NEAR MINT CONDITION. This Vintage 1970's 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a BEAUTIFUL 8x6mm 1ct Natural Solid Opal with ORANGE GOLDEN & GREEN/BLUE FIRE and Fantastic Luster. This natural solid opal has Flashes of ORANGE/GOLDEN & GREEN/BLUE FIRE. This is a semi-translucent base solid opal meaning light can pass into the opal giving it depth of color. This Amazing Natural Solid Opal has not been treated or color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. We took quite a few photos of this opal under different lighting conditions to give an idea of the abundance and brightness of the fire and where it occurs. As you move the opal the fire shifts in brightness and from ORANGE/GOLDEN to GREEN/BLUE. This Opal is a Domed Oval Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This opal is natural solid welo opal that has its origins in the Wollo Province in the horn of Africa. The term “Solid Opal” means that the opal you are looking at is indeed a solid chunk of the opal and not a sliver of opal set on a background which would be a doublet or triplet opal. Solid opals are more rare and valuable. This ring is vintage 1960's and probably originally had a Linde sapphire or another type of cabochon. This opal was cut and set later since welo opals came into use about 30 years ago. This ring also features a Three diamonds ranging in size from 2mm down to 1.5mm. They are expertly bead set in recessed white gold triangular mounts. All three Diamonds have nice color and clarity. All three Diamonds are guaranteed to be both Genuine & Natural. The opal and diamonds are in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This ring also has a asymmetrical design that is hand engraved with a Florentine finish. A Florentine finish is a hand engraved textured surface consisting if tiny intersecting sets of parallel lines. The dark areas on the gold in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished gold. This ring is fully hallmarked "10k" and tests as and is guaranteed to be 10k solid gold.
